Airtel is in competition with Reliance Jio, which is currently the top telecom operator. In order to still have the customers glued to their services, they are introducing new plans this year. The company is trying to provide its customers with best of the services that too at a feasible price. Voice over LTE (VoLTE) is what the operator is trying to introduce.
The service is currently in the trial phase; hence, the company plans to try it out in around five cities. According to the CEO and Managing Director of Airtel, the service will be launched by the year end and also after a successful trial period. What’s the catch about VoLTE is that its 4G speed will help the user enjoy both the data and the voice offers without the need to switch bands. This can help the telecom operator compete with Reliance Jio that has free voice callings launched for its customers.
Airtel plans to bravely make a stand for itself in the market. Recently, the company has also introduced the “Data Roll Over Promise” for its postpaid customers a chance to carry forward their data that was unused from the earlier billing cycle to the next one without any trouble. This is a kind of essence the postpaid users have been waiting for.The basic reason behind this service is to avoid the unnecessary wastage of data of the customers. The postpaid subscribers can benefit a lot from this service. However, there is a limit that is only 200GB of data can be carried forward. Additionally, the customers can keep track of their data used or unused through the use of MyAirtel app.
In order to popularize its service again among the customers, the operator has brought about improvements in the in-store, app, and website. The new family Promise program launched by the telecom operator is to let the postpaid customers create a number of customized solutions for different members of his or her family via the MyAirtel app. There is also another service called Project Next that the company is planning to come up with for all its postpaid customers.
Airtel VoLTE that will be launched later this year will help counter Jio. No doubt the rate at which Airtel is introducing a number of plans, it surely looks like it is going to bounce back again in the telecom market.
Airtel hopes to shine bright this year.
