Narendra Modi Announced Foundation Funding Of Rs 1,000 Crore For Diu And Daman
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a tour of Daman and Diu, laid the foundation for the projects worth nearly Rs 1,000 Crore, while addressing this Union Territory as ‘Mini India’. At the same time, he announced the creation of a university in Daman and Diu. Giving a gift to the fishermen, the Prime Minister said that fishermen will be given relief in the tax. They will be boats for long fishing, so that they can catch more fish in less time.
The Prime Minister said, “The Union Territories has become free from defecation in the open. More than two thousand toilets have been built here. There is a movement of freedom from open defecation. There is massive movement going on towards CNG, LED bulb, e-rickshaw.
He said, “1 lakh LED bulbs have been divided in Daman alone, which has saved the electricity bills of more than Rs. 7 Crore of middle class families alone in Daman and Diu. For Daman and Diu, perhaps for the first time, the foundation stone of Rs 1,000 Crore has been laid. Daman has become a small India today. Here there are people from almost every state of India. Social life such as Delhi and Mumbai is seen in Daman. Throughout the course I saw that every corner of India is full of excitement and enthusiasm.
The Prime Minister appealed to the people of Daman not to encourage or support littering in the region. He said that this will increase tourism and create job opportunities. Earlier, PM Modi inaugurated projects worth Rs 1,000 Crore for Daman and Diu. This includes solar power plants, water cleansing plants, bridges, facilities for fishermen, and other. During this time e-rickshaws were distributed to the poor as helping for their living. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the gas pipeline and a new Air service was started between Diu and Ahmadabad as well.
