Salman Khan Ready To Push E-Cycle Drive Of Government

You might soon watch Salman Khan, the Bollywood superstar, pedaling on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway on the recently built cycle track, marketing a healthy lifestyle. This will be done since he is the brand ambassador of the initiative by the government to popularize e-cycles. Nitin Gadkari, the “go-getter” minister of Modi cabinet and a passionate supporter for electric transportation, claimed that the government needs to support cycling as a fit mean of transportation.

An e-cycle, which comes fitted with a tiny electric motor, can be employed to wrap more distances in comparison to plain bicycles. “Salman Khan has talked about the problem with me. He is also taking the aspects of producing e-cycles seriously. It will make huge consciousness amongst the people,” the minister for road transport and highways claimed to the media. Salman Khan is an avid cycler himself and his “Being Human Foundation” is in discussion with e-cycle producer for a joint venture, sources claimed.

The minister claimed that some 2–3 Years ago when he began speaking of eco-friendly fuel, individuals believed he was nuts, but now they are starting to realize its benefits. “Bringing e-transportations apart from other eco-friendly fuel is my vision,” the minister claimed. Gadkari claimed that the primary phase of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, which comprises first 14-lane highway of India, has a 2.5-metre broad track for cycling and is ready for roll out any time now after being concluded in record 14 Months in comparison to the planned 30 Months.

On December 31, 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the groundwork of the expressway worth Rs 7,566 crore, claiming it will convey people freedom from pollution. This is similar to the way Meerut kicked off for freedom in 1857. The minister claimed that almost all new expressways and highways will have different cycle tracks and users will be motivated to employ those for last mile connectivity, thus advantaging them fitness-wise too. “I appeal to the people of India to employ bicycles as much as achievable. It has great health advantages and will go a long way in minimizing pollution from vehicles,” he claimed

“We have already planned to develop cycle tracks on all chief roads all over the nation, comprising on highways. I am carrying out this in my hometown Nagpur as well,” Gadkari claimed. “In 5 Years, I believe we will be in level with developed nations,” he claimed to the media in an interview.
