Aircel States “No Certainty” In Reports It Is Closing Down Services

An official from Aircel, a telecom operator, said the company would carry on providing best rate for money plans to consumers and consider prospects in the data space, predominantly, in tier 3 and 2 cities of Tamil Nadu following the rampant boost of smartphones.

A spokesperson for the company said, “We have an extremely optimistic stance in Tamil Nadu. We’re a telecom service provider of preference in tier 3 and 2 cities in the state.” However, he refuted reports that Aircel was pulling back services as the agreement with RCom did not turn up. He stated that there was “no reality in these reports.”

He said, “At Aircel, we intensely and categorically reject these groundless rumors. Aircel is dedicated to offer the best value to consumers in Tamil Nadu and Chennai.” Both the telecom operators, in October 2017, declared that the union of the mobile business of Aircel and RCOM had been suspended with joint consent. The Telcos, in September 2016, had inked contracts for the union of the mobile business of RCom with Aircel.

The representative mentioned that the firm was dedicated to offering finest value for cash plans to users and stated they would carry on doing so. To a question on how Aircel had dealt with to keep hold of consumers in spite of several operators being in the tussle now, he replied, “Our spotlight is always to provide consumers best value offers and flawless connectivity.”

Also, he asserted that Aircel is the biggest operator in telecom circles of Tamil Nadu and Chennai in terms of consumer market share. Replying to a query on new plans being provided by telecom leaders ensuing the ingress of Reliance Jio, he replied, “The firm provides plans that consist of 3 Month and 1 Month uncapped schemes providing more value to consumers.”

The telecom operator has operations in 13 circles offering 3G connectivity and 2G services in 23 circles. It is also providing 20 paise/minute plan across the country and networks as well, he said. Aircel, in Tamil Nadu, has a customer base of around 20 Million and since September 30, 2017, it has a customer base of 88.8 Million countrywide.

On the moves taken by the firm to hold workers, he said, “At Aircel, worker engagement is constant and something that we’re extremely proud of… We give power to our workers that let them articulate their abilities freely.”

The firm provides a vigorous development and learning program for workers and also has several recognition and rewards initiatives such as Tamil Nadu Premier League and Aircel Premiere League between channel workers, he said.
