New Hyundai Verna Launch Outruns Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

The Indian market has just passed through a festive season, which is the prime occasion for the automakers to reap maximum sale. And on that ground, the newly launched Hyundai Verna has done some alterations in the dominating position. The vehicle has grabbed the leading position in the automobile market by surpassing some favorite competitors such as Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. South Korean car maker’s Indian Arm Hyundai has gained its coronet in the sedan segment after 3 years. As per the report, Hyundai Motor India managed to sell around 6,054 units of new Verna in September 2017, while its competitor Maruti Suzuki sold 5,603 units of Ciaz and Honda sold 6,010 units of its City model.

Before the launch of the newest version, the total sales of Hyundai Verna were on an average amid 800–900 units. And just after the rollout, with a short period of 40 Days, the company received booking of 15,000 units of the new Verna and has got more than 1.24 Lakh enquires for the same.

However, this drastic rise in the sale of mid-size Verna assisted Hyundai to touch the mark of the 50,000 units in September, which is growing at 17.4% compared to year-over-year sales.

As per the experts, it is believed that the launch of new product fetches in a load of enthusiasm in the automobile sector and its segment. It has not only boosted the sale of the company but also assists in expanding the capabilities of the segment.

The all-new Hyundai Verna is launched with a base price of Rs 7.99 Lakh (petrol variant), whereas the diesel variant comes with Rs 9.19 Lakh. This price is just an opening price for first 20,000 customers. The vehicle is built on the novel K2 Platform, while it is assembled with 1.6L dual VTVT power plant and 1.6L U2 Common rail technology BGT diesel engine.

The petrol engine has the capacity to churn out 123 PS power at 6,400 RPM and generates 16.4 Kgm of maximum torque at 4,850 RPM. On the other side, diesel pull outs the power of 128 PS power at 4,000 RPM and holds the capacity of generating 26.5 Kgm torque at 1,500–3,000 RPM.

The new Verna is laden with the various safety features such as traction control, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability management, rear parking camera & sensors. Around the globe, the automaker has sold 8.8 Million units of Verna in almost 66 nations.
