Ford is soon launching its updated car EcoSport Facelift in India and the company has pulled the covers off from the engine of this car. Ford India is offering a 1.5-liter Ti-VCT three-cylinder petrol engine with this SUV. The engine is also known as Dragon Engine on the Internet. Ford’s engine will be used for the first time in the company’s car. Speaking of the strength, the 1.5-liter Ti-VCT engine generates 120 bhp power and 150 Nm torque.
The 1.5-liter Ti-VCT engine allows intake and exhaust to be done separately. The car maker says that this makes the engine even better and it gets better fuel efficiency along with more speed. To fill more power in the car, the company has changed its bore and stroke ratio so that it can get even better power at lower engine speed. Ford bought 80% of this new engine from Indian suppliers, which has reduced the price of this engine.
In the 1.5-liter engine of the Ford Ecosport Facelift, the company has installed aluminum blocks and cylinder heads, which can reduce the weight of the car. Exhaust manifold has been made in the form of a cylinder head, which will make the engine less hot and fuel will also last for a long time. Ford claims that this engine produces up to 7% less CO2 and saves as much fuel as possible. It is worth mentioning that Ford is going to launch its new and updated Ecosport soon in India and with this low-cost and fuel-saving engine, the demand for this car can be greatly increased.
In addition, the US-based automaker has crafted the engine to achieve low NVH levels. The balance shaft of the power plant is integrated with hydrodynamic bearings that assist to reduce the nonconforming vibrations in three-cylinder engines. Additionally, in case of friction and noise, it is all handled in better way owing to belt-in primary oil drive system.
Ford presently deals in 1.0 Liter EcoBoost and the strongest one is 5.0 Liter V8 engine, though the last one isn’t made in India.
